Is this an issue with just my Acrobat? Who knows! I have the Creative Cloud subscription and I have the most up to date version (I even tried to reinstall.still same issue). SO, the moral of the story, if you are having problems with this, always restart Acrobat before continuing to try to merge large number of files if along the way you encounter an issue. With some closing and opening of Acrobat I was able to merge 117 files and then 118 files and then 119 files. At one point, I couldn't merge more than 118 files. The odd thing is that it appears that you can incrementally increase the number of files that can be handled in the merge process. If I shut down Acrobat and open it back up and retry to merge, then it works again. After that, issues will arise with merging any number of files. Through testing I have discovered that when I try to merge a large number of files at some point along the way (and I haven't been able to pinpoint the number) an error occurs and the 'View File Now' option doesn't show. UPDATE: So this seems to be an Adobe Acrobat issue related to merging large number of files to a spreadsheet (and not an issue with my form). What could possibly be the issue? I have 300 files I need to get data from.any ideas? I thought that maybe the issue was with the way folks inputted the data (not in Reader) but when I test the form on my own computer, again, sometimes it works great and sometimes it doesn't.
When I try to merge the forms into a spreadsheet, sometimes a 0 byte CSV file will result and sometimes a list of just the filenames will result.

There was a problem reading this document (11)." I can close down Acrobat and reopen it and that particular form will open fine but then another one will give me problems. A 0 byte PDF usually means the file isnt done saving and the 0 byte file is just a placeholder until the file is done exporting. When I open these forms now, sometimes they open flawlessly and sometimes I get an error that says: "There was an error opening this document. Now, search for the recovery folder and see if you could find a draft of the recovery file.

For Mac users: Follow the folders as mentioned below, Step 4: Users-> your users name->Library->Cache->Adobe InDesign->Version->InDesign Recovery. I sent the form to a bunch of folks to fill out- they emailed me back the form (I didn't do a response file). Tap on ‘Caches’ and navigate to ‘InDesign Recovery.’. I then created the form fields in Adobe Acrobat DC on a Mac. I remember a message I quickly dismissed (idiot) that said something along the lines as the link to the embedded file is broke? then that's when I had the save problem.Help needed! Can't merge form data into spreadsheet! afdesign file - the only thing I changed was the time on a school tower clock face which was an embedded file. THE INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONICS MAGAZINE 535 CARD WITH EPROM EMULATOR ST9A ''''''''''''''.ST. afdesign file and gave the 'failed to write' message (the file was now showing as zero k so nothing to open when attempting) the document was still fully functional so I tried creating and saving an empty document to the exact same spec to the desktop then copy pasted all items from the first artboard, of the three artboard document, to the desktop = failed to write message again when saving, so looks as though something had become corrupt within the original . This happened to me on Friday while tweaking a page to one of the children's books I've been working on which was originally started in 1.7 and opened in MAS Designer 1.9.3 and saving to an internal drive and the desktop - it seemed to overwrite the original, 3 artboard, 2.19 gb. We've had reports that creating a new admin user account can sometimes resolve the issue or by just not having many files open in the app when trying to save. These are hard for us to reproduce for our developers to investigate further to hopefully get a better idea of what the cause may be. Reasons for this includes external drives entering a different power mode and for cloud it may be when re-syncing occurs.
Part of the reason for this is that if you load/save to an external or cloud storage the link/connection to the file could be dropped. When it comes to saving always try saving locally, once saved you can then move the file to a different drive or cloud storage.
